2009 BMW M3 Convertible.
I have been a huge fan of BMW M for many years, but it seems in the recent years they are beginning to loose their touch. Two SUV Ms have been introduced, and it seems like BMW is backing off of naturally aspirated engines all together. The same twin turbo V8 engine that powers the X6 M and X5 M is highly rumored to be placed into the next generation of the M5– though nothing is confirmed, and before you know it, the M3 is the only traditional M car left.
The 4.0L V8 engine in this car is a screamer of a motor. It puts joy back in driving, with its high revs, and in your face power. Producing more than 414 horsepower, a redline of 8400 RPM, and a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds. It is basically the current M5’s V10 minus two cylinders. Though this generation of the M3 is the heaviest generation yet, is also the most capable. The engine is one of the most exhilarating engines in any car on the road.
The cockpit is nothing short of what you would come to expect from BMW. The sports seats are outstanding, and one of the most conformable seats I’ve ever used for long trips in a true sports coupe. The rear passengers have much more headroom than thier competitors from Audi and Mercedes, and this car features leather that doesn’t absorb heat once the top is down. The materials and quality is outstanding, and the new iDrive is a huge improvement on its predecessor.
